FAQ

Common questions

Are the internships paid?

No. Placements are unpaid training internships. You do not receive a salary from the host company.

Will I get a job after the internship?

The internship gives you experience, contacts and a certificate from the host company. It does not include or guarantee a job offer when it ends.

I’m from outside the European Union. Can I do an internship?

If you need a visa, an internship involves a different legal process, and in some cases it cannot be arranged within the legal framework. Debla can explain the steps, but the visa application and its requirements are your responsibility. Always check your situation with the Spanish consulate that covers your place of residence before booking.

Is the Spanish course in person?

Yes. The programme includes the intensive Spanish course at our school in Malaga, for a minimum of two weeks before your internship starts.

What Spanish level do I need?

At least A2. You take a placement test (written and oral) before arrival so we can place you in the right group and propose companies that match your level.

Why is the course a minimum of two weeks?

Two weeks of intensive classes help you get used to hearing and speaking Spanish every day, so you start your internship with more confidence.

How long can the internship last?

You decide. We recommend at least four weeks. Shorter placements leave little time to learn the role and contribute to the team.

When does the search for my internship start?

Once you have paid the minimum deposit and sent your CV and motivation letter. We recommend applying several weeks before your planned start date.

Can I choose the company or the sector?

You tell us your preferred sectors and goals, and we look for the best match. The final placement depends on company availability, the dates of your stay and your profile.

Does my university or Erasmus+ programme recognise the internship?

You receive a certificate from the host company and a certificate of attendance for your Spanish course. Check with your university or institution which documents they need for recognition.
