Spanish and volunteering, hand in hand
The Spanish + Volunteering programme lets you study Spanish at Debla while working with social organisations in Málaga. It is not only about learning the language in the classroom: it is about using it in the real world, with real people, while giving something back to the community that welcomes you.
You can volunteer while you study — it never overlaps with class times — or wait until you have finished your intensive course to volunteer with a more flexible schedule.
Choose when to volunteer
Classes and volunteering never overlap. You choose which of the two options best suits your stay.
Alongside your classes
Combine your Spanish course and volunteering during the same weeks. Volunteering is always arranged outside your class timetable.

Finish your intensive Spanish course and then begin volunteering, with greater availability because there are no classes to fit around.

Beyond those 4 hours, the final number depends on your availability and that of the host organisation. If both sides have more time and interest, additional volunteering hours can be arranged.
Do I need a minimum level?
In most cases, yes: we require at least B1 level, so that you can communicate confidently within the host organisation.

Let us know 6 weeks in advance
We need to know at least 6 weeks before your arrival so that we can begin coordinating with the relevant organisation. Without this notice, we cannot guarantee confirmation.

Intensive course + volunteering
The programme price is your intensive Spanish course plus a one-off volunteering fee of €168, regardless of the length of your course.
- Volunteering fee: €168 in 2026, paid once — it does not depend on how many weeks you study.
- Final price: the price of your intensive course + volunteering fee.
- 2026 example: 1 week of intensive course (€220) + volunteering fee (€168) = €388.
*You can freely choose the number of weeks for your intensive course. The price adjusts to the chosen duration, while the volunteering fee always remains the same. For courses starting in 2027, the volunteering fee will be €252 (example: 1 week = €224 + €252 = €476).
